What’s holding you back?

I’m just writing from the heart. I have topics that I believe to be of the utmost importance but I aim more to write about what’s moving me more than anything else.

I have a project that I’m working on now regarding joy. I am excited about it and writing it has been a wonderful study in God’s Word on joy.

Concentrated writing, however, for me, is mentally demanding. I’m sure it’s nothing for you. Writing here and journaling—usually just a stream-of-consciousness style—is a way to continue writing but without the pressure of sticking to the topic.

I’m curious why you don’t write? Sure there are a million books better written and already published on what you would say. None of them though were written by you.

With so many distractions in our world today, writing, even just typing like I do here, is a wonderful way to learn your thoughts. You might just surprise yourself with a clever turn of phrase or novel thought. And who knows? You might just find that what you have to say isn’t so unimportant after all.

So, what’s holding you back? There’s always a reason. Let’s put down the phone, turn off the TV, and take up writing, or reading, or a good conversation. Or all of the above.
