A revival of thirsting hearts

We would do well to remember that the doctrines of devils foretold by the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul are active and becoming ever more influential in the religious landscape. Often I am astounded by the lack of spiritual wisdom in promoting certain leaders and ideas. Not that I am against new ideas. Or even up-and-coming leaders. But the litmus test of both these must go beyond mere lip service to traditional biblical standards and doctrine. The old apostle exhorted us to “try the spirits” to see whether they are of God or not. Even Satan is transformed into an angel of light. While the masses clamor for more of this particular leader or movement or idea, we must be resolutely committed to God’s Word and the Spirit of Christ as proof of what we should accept or not.

In a day when biblical doctrine has become more vague and wider, it is the responsibility of God’s people to stringently adhere to God’s Word and reject vehemently any doctrine, leader, or idea whose spirit is not following the heart of God—holiness unto Himself, separation from the world, and submission to biblical authority.

Itching ears are yearning to seek the latest incipient philosophy; we need a revival of thirsting hearts for God—this alone can satiate the desire of His child to know Him.
